Fundamentals to Build and Engage a Team

Fundamentals of Building and Engaging a Team

Soccer, not baseball

Seldom do leaders resolve a crisis or anything else on their own.

A team of engaged participants is required and they don’t always come easily.

However, building a high-performing team is not a cattle call of first-come, first served either.

  • It involves identifying the need and then cultivating the necessary talent.
  • If that talent is not already there, then they must be recruited.

Because of the importance to any event of any size or complexity, in Module 3 - Readiness to Act, the topic of engagement and team building is covered extensively.

After years of analyzing groups and organizations of virtually every size, I'm confident that the most significant factor of success is: the quality of leadership.

And quality leaders build quality teams.

Even when faced with a challenging situation, building the right coalition at the beginning enables future efforts to be more robust, more informed and more resilient.

Effective leaders always “begin with the end in mind.”

Much, much more to come....
