Sample Introduction

If a user visits this page and is not logged in, they will not be able to access the lessons or topics.  Similarly, if the user is logged in but is not enrolled in the course, they will not be able to navigate through the lessons (unless the lesson is marked as a sample lesson).

Common items displayed in the first introductory lesson may include:

  • Course Overview and objectives
  • Preview of subsequent Lessons and topics
  • Intro video
  • Notice of a pre-requisite course must be completed first

Course Navigation:

  • Below this frame are two buttons:  Next Lesson and Previous Lesson.  Same applies to Topics, which are sometimes nested under Lessons within the course hierarchy.
  • Most courses are presented sequentially so a user won't be able to advance until the previous lesson has been completed.
  • Lessons are considered 'complete' when the user moves from one lesson to the next.
  • The lessons are also on the side bar (desktop), as well as a link to navigate the course's main page.
  • At the top is a menu of useful links including:  assigned course list, account info, log in/out, etc.

Other Features

Notes

  • Also below the frame is a "Take Notes" box.
  • This feature is available for enrolled users to take notes as the proceed through the course.
  • Their combined notes are available to view and print from their MY Account page.
