ICS 215 Operational Planning Worksheet (or equivalent)

this form is intended to identify the resource requirements needed to address the objectives agreed to earlier in the planning process.

The ICS 215 and the following ICS 215A are as much a process as they are ICS forms.

  • They are the work product that results from the Strategy and Tactics Meeting while planning for the next operational period.
  • Revisit the Response Sequence Meetings course to refresh your understanding of this important process.

The intent of the ICS 215 is to identify the resource requirements needed to address the objectives agreed to earlier in the planning process.

Example:

  • One of the S.M.A.R.T. Objectives is to perform a high coverage secondary search of the building on the NW corner of Walk and Don’t Walk before sundown.
  • Personnel from Operations, Logistics, and Plans determine that based on their experience, one Type IV Urban Search & Rescue team will be needed.
  • However, since none are currently available for the next operational period, then one needs to be requested to arrive before the next period begins.
